We’re all about community. Even though our forums haven’t taken off yet, we sure hope they do soon. We love answering questions about local food and we’re happy to help anyone on their locavore journey. But that’s not really what I wanted to talk about today. Today I’m writing to let you know about an effort to develop the Seattle food writing community. Last week, a few of us (including Kate from Accidental Hedonist) were twittering about how to get this community going.
Kate and I have decided to start a monthly get together for food writers and bloggers at a local coffee shop. All food writers in the greater Seattle area are welcome. If you have a food blog, come on out. If you have written (or are writing) a food book or column, you’re welcome. Heck, even if you’re still in the research phase of said book, column, or blog, come on down. No invitation (well, other than this one) necessary. We’ll get together and talk, drink coffee, offer advice, ask for advice, and generally get to know each other and support each other.
If you’re interested, meet us next Thursday at Caffe Vita on Capital Hill, from 7-9pm. We’ll be upstairs talking about food.

Thanks for organizing! Sadly, will not be able to attend. But I love it when the local food community we have hosts events like this to support one another. It’s helped me a ton and made me feel part of a a true ‘community’.
Have a great event and look forward to attending the next.

We’re planning on making this a monthly event, so hopefully you’ll be able to attend the next one.
